SpeechEasy Fluency Devices Are Available in Three Small, Comfortable, Ergonomic Behind the Ear and In the Ear Models
SpeechEasy offers three highly ergonomic
models to choose from: behind the ear, in the canal and completely
in the canal. The latter is the smallest, most discreet fluency
device made and our most popular style. All three models are
custom fit to the individual user's ear canal using an ear mold
impression to ensure a perfect fit. Below are the specifications
and cost for each model.
Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) Tests have shown that in some cases, longer delays can produce more favorable responses. The advanced model allows for a wider range of delay time to better suit your needs.
Frequency Altered Feedback (FAF) Frequency Altered Feedback allows a person to hear their voice with a shift in its frequency emulating choral speech. SpeechEasy® is capable of producing a wide range of shifts.
Upgradeable Software In an effort to foresee upcoming technological changes, SpeechEasy® was designed and created with a digital platform which allows for upgrading the device by simply altering its software.
Intelligent Noise Attenuation Strategy® (INAS) INAS enables SpeechEasy® to analyze incoming sound for information content, like speech, and instantly accentuates the frequency ranges where these sound are detected. At the same time, it reduces the volume of frequency ranges that contain noise.
Effective Voice Activation Technology® (EVAT) This feature is based on the strength and distance of sound waves. Stronger waves are used to activate the SpeechEasy® device, while weaker sounds will be muted. Ultimately, your own voice is delayed instead of others, thereby allowing you to hear normally when you are not speaking.
Frequency Shaping More frequency bands provide more resolutions of sound. This allows for greater flexibility in adjusting the sound to your optimum response area.
External Volume Control This allows you to adjust the volume. Devices without the external volume control are set by the programmer and cannot be adjusted by the patient once they are set.

Second Memory Some users may need different setups for different environments. For example, you may find the setup of 75ms delay time useful under normal conditions, buy may need a longer delay when speaking publicly. With dual memories, you only have to switch from one memory to the other to meet your needs.
Soft Custom Ear Mold An ear mold is required for all BTE units and is available for purchase through your provider.
