National Outreach Program Gives 100 Recipients More than $500k in Devices, Related Therapy

Make SpeechEasy available to people who need it the most - that was the primary reason behind the National Outreach Program, where 100 recipients were awarded more than $500,000 in devices and therapy nationwide.

The response to the program was overwhelming, which made selecting the final 100 from almost a thousand applications very challenging. Each applicant had an opportunity to submit an essay; a case history, including their experiences as someone who stutters, and their reasons for wanting to try a SpeechEasy device.

The experimental program was designed to provide Janus Development Group (the parent company of SpeechEasy) with the opportunity to learn more about the stuttering community while simultaneously providing individuals with the chance to receive a SpeechEasy device - at little or no cost.

"The true success of the program has yet to be determined, since it will ultimately be measured by the lives that are changed as a result of the device," said Darwin Richards, CEO of the Janus Corporation. "We are pleased to have offered the opportunity, and we are grateful to be witness to the stories that are coming forward as a result of the program."

The 100 recipients are now in the process of being evaluated and fitted with their devices. We look forward to keeping you up-to-date on their progress!
