SpeechEasy Web Site Offers A Window into the SpeechEasy World
Ever wonder what it's like for someone who has lived with the effects of stuttering for so long, and who finally have the chance, thanks to the SpeechEasy device, to speak more fluently?
Now you can share the experience, even if only for a few moments from the desktop of your computer. Thanks to Janus Development Corp.'s dedication to continuing to upgrade the The SpeechEasy web site, there is now a Testimonial section where SpeechEasy users share their stories.
What Our Customers are Saying
Recorded in streaming video clips, available for viewing via both dial-up or broadband, the new Testimonial section highlights individuals whose lives have been greatly affected by the SpeechEasy device. The 30 second clips share a little bit with the world of what it's like to live with the effects of stuttering, and how a device like SpeechEasy can help.
"For me, it has been a life-changing even," says Kevin Cole, the first video testimonial featured on the web site. "I am more fluent, significantly more fluent, in all sorts of speaking situations. This life changing event started strong and has grown immeasurably in effectiveness ever since," he adds. Kevin had been a SpeechEasy user for six months (at the time the video was recorded earlier this year). He is one of three SpeechEasy users who share their story on video.
In addition, there are several written testimonials in the same What Our Customers are Saying section, which provide an interesting cross-section of SpeechEasy users around the country.
Discussion Board
In addition of the What Our Customers are Saying section, the Testimonials section also features a Discussion Board, where individuals can register to participate in postings, and/ or view information that is being shared amongst the SpeechEasy community.
The Welcome Section includes Announcements and New member information, and also features a moderator. The SpeechEasy users and General Information section includes a variety of options, including:
- a General Chat space
- a Funding space (for answers to questions on such topics as health insurance and vocational rehabilitation)
- a Comments space for feedback
- a Tips and Hints space for users to share what works for them in their use of the device
- a Support space for any technical issues that may arise, which also features a moderator
There is also an International Users space for general discussion for users outside the United States.
To date, there are close to 900 registered users in the SpeechEasy Discussion Board.
Tell Us Your Story
The last feature of the new Testimonials Section has a feedback form for users to share their story. It includes a text box for users to share as much or as little as they like about their experiences with the SpeechEasy device.
