Healthcare Reimbursement Solutions: How Does it Work?

Healthcare Reimbursement Solutions, Inc. (HRSI) is working with Janus to assist SpeechEasy users with attempting to receive reimbursement from their private insurance for their SpeechEasy device. HRSI has been providing this service to healthcare companies for more than 10 years in various areas of specialty, such as urology, cardiology, orthopedic, pain management, gynecology, etc.

What is HRSI's relationship to Janus and SpeechEasy?

HRSI has been educating local and regional insurance payers about SpeechEasy's effectiveness, as well as what would be a reasonable and customary reimbursement amount. They also help users who have recently self-paid for the product attempt to recoup some or all of their expense for the device.

Janus is excited to offer this service to all our clients for FREE! There is no charge for anyone interested in SpeechEasy, or those who have already purchased a device, to use HRSI as their source for insurance coverage.

What strategy has been developed to achieve reimbursement success?

HRSI's approach is that once an appropriate reimbursement amount has been authorized and paid by an insurance carrier, a precedent is established which allows future clients the opportunity to use their insurance plan to receive coverage for the same device. The authorization of a reimbursement will open the market to clients who could not have purchased the device on their own, and will encourage those who may be unsure about the purchase due to financial restriction. Ultimately, by developing a precedent for insurance reimbursement, SpeechEasy will be more easily accessible to people who stutter.

What is HRSI's pricing method?

HRSI believes that SpeechEasy is far superior to other devices on the market that provide assistance for the same condition. Because of this belief, HRSI will establish the SpeechEasy device outside of the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) designation - an important step, since DME products have reimbursement restrictions. Once SpeechEasy is no longer considered DME, HRSI can gain reimbursement as a stand alone product at or above the current retail price.

How will the process work?

HRSI has developed a client reimbursement handout. Go to http://www.speecheasy.com/healthcare_reimbursement_solutions.pdf to receive a copy of this handout, which includes an application form for entrance into the program. You should fill out the HRSI handout if:
  • You have placed an order for a SpeechEasy device, and would like assistance with gaining reimbursement from your private payer insurance carrier.
  • You do not have the ability to self pay for the device, but do have private health insurance, since HRSI may be able to assist you with gaining payer coverage before you purchase the device. However, please be aware pursuing this process can take time, and will delay the purchase of your device.
Fill out the form and mail it to HRSI - DO NOT RETURN THE FORM TO JANUS. Once HRSI receives your information, they will begin the insurance carrier education and benefit process.

It's as simple as that!
