Schneider Wins Sean Anderson Memorial SpeechEasy Scholarship
Ozzy Schneider, a 14-year-old from Youngstown, Florida, is the recipient of this year's Sean Anderson Memorial Scholarship. Congratulations Ozzy!
Ozzy was chosen from a handful of applicants in the Florida area to receive the 'in the canal' version of the device. The scholarship was founded a few years ago by Janus Development Group and Martha Lopez-Anderson, Sean's mom, who decided to get involved after, sadly, her 12-year-old son, Sean, died unexpectedly. Sean's life was significantly changed because of the SpeechEasy device, and Mrs. Lopez-Anderson's generosity of spirit in wanting to touch another child's life (especially during such an emotionally challenging time), inspired Janus to donate a device to a child in the Florida area each year, to honor her act of kindness.
