SpeechEasy Dispenser Information

Thank you for your interest in the unique opportunity of becoming a SpeechEasy provider! The following information will outline that process for you and help answer some of your questions. However, do not hesitate to let us know should you need more information.

In order to become a provider for SpeechEasy, you will need to be state licensed and ASHA certified. We also are looking for SLPs who have experience working with those who stutter and who have an understanding of various fluency techniques. A good background in this area is most helpful when evaluating a client and the effectiveness of the SpeechEasy device as therapy is often paired with the use of the SpeechEasy. Also, to help maintain a level of professionalism, we ask that all SpeechEasy providers have an office location outside of their home. The following is a list of steps and additional information to help guide you through the rest of the process.

  1. Complete the provider application and furnish a current resume.
After this is received, you will be contacted to review your information. You may also choose to complete the application portion by participating in a phone interview. If that is the case, please contact us directly. However, even with a phone interview the application page and resume will still need to be sent.
  2. Attend a training to learn the processes associated with dispensing SpeechEasy.
These day and a half trainings include instruction on client evaluation, device programming and demonstration as well as client follow-up. It should be noted that the training is part of the SpeechEasy process and that attendance at a session does not mean that all those at that session will become a provider. We want both parties to have the chance post-training to choose whether or not they would like to continue moving forward. If the decision is reached, by either party for any reason, that they do not want to move forward then we amicably part ways.
  3. Review and sign a retail agreement.
A sample retail agreement will be sent to you prior to your training date so that the information can be reviewed and you will have an opportunity to ask questions about the agreement before you make arrangements to attend a training.
  4. Receive a demonstration kit and supporting materials.
Once there is a signed agreement in place, we will send you a demonstration kit, put your name and contact information on our provider listings and give you the supporting materials to help make your transition smooth.

If you are interested in joining our growing network of SLPs currently providing the SpeechEasy device, please fill out the Provider Retail Application here and send it to Info@SpeechEasy.com or fax it to 252-413-0950. We look forward to receiving your application and resume and beginning the process with you.
